Ke Alaka'i News is Brigham Young University-Hawaii's award-winning news center, first published in 1955. Their mission aligns with the university's goal to help students become better learners, leaders, and builders of their families, communities, careers, and faith. They cover a range of stories from campus events and local community features to reactions to international news from a very diverse student body.
Objective
Collaborate closely with a team of graphic designers, photographers, writers, and editors under tight deadlines. Follow the established guidelines of the magazine and adapt to the mood board and vision for each issue.

The Iosepa is a hand-carved canoe that sails approximately every two years around the islands of Hawaii. Our team chose a vintage look featuring maps and timeless colors for this issue.

"Culture" Issue
The Culture issue was all about celebrating the diverse student body at Brigham Young University Hawaii. The moodboard was colorful, with a strong use of geometric shapes.
